DID YOU KNOW WHY THE EMU AND THE KANGAROO ARE SYMBOLISED ON THE AUSTRALIAN EMBLEM? – I was asked once by my friends daughter returning from school. This is so because these animals don’t walk backward. The pun is: Australia walks ahead as a country, uniquely valuing its unity among world’s cultures.
Earlier this week I took a trip to CAVERSHAM WILDLIFE PARK, it was an experience of connection with nature and it’s inhabitants. Unlike in a zoo, wildlife parks offer more interactions and more opportunities to observe the animals in their wild habitat.
Here is the video blog of my visit:
The most approachable Kangaroos and Wallaby’s I have seen in Australia. The park provides the food and really – they are the cutest when they eat. 🙂
It’s funny how they were all laying around after breakfast enjoying the morning sun.
The Emu is also special in its own way. They were resting as well, though in an enclosure.
Concluding thoughts
Australian wildlife parks are so different from what I have seen elsewhere. There is more confidence and more trust among nature and people. It was a great experience and I highly recommend it.
It has been a busy time for me with finishing the lease at this apartment (in Australia, you need to steam clean the carpets and complete another two-page to-do list) and packing for some weeks of travel ahead.
My heart is set on great things, possibly an opportunity to study in Europe from September 2020. Among the financial hesitations and windy roads for possible travel in these Pandemic times, I keep my eyes and heart open for great and beautiful things waiting ahead!
